Experience the music that inspired soldiers, comforted families, and captured the emotions of a nation at war. Join us for an evening concert featuring renowned musician Bess Putnam and company as they perform beloved songs from the Civil War era. These historic melodies offer a powerful glimpse into the hopes, hardships, and everyday lives of Americans during one of the country's most defining conflicts.
Built in 1855, Warrenton Presbyterian Church stood at the center of a community profoundly affected by the conflict. During the Civil War, the church was occupied by Federal troops and suffered substantial damage, making it a tangible witness to the events that transformed Fauquier County and the nation. As the music fills this historic sanctuary, guests will have the opportunity to experience the sounds of a nineteenth-century music in a place that endured the hardships of war firsthand.
Light refreshments included with ticket.
This event is sponsored by the Piedmont Journalism Foundation and co-hosted by Citizens For Fauquier County.
