Maxwell Perkins, famed Scribner’s editor to the "Lost Generation," was a lifelong friend of Elizabeth Lemmon of Welbourne. Perkins sent F. Scott Fitzgerald and Thomas Wolfe to stay at Welbourne to escape the indulgence of city life and we will learn about their experiences which influenced them to use the home as a setting in short stories.
